Sangeun Noh
“Art is a language that connects me to anyone, anywhere.”
In one word, Sangeun Noh is a connector. She spent nine years in the Republic of Korea and nine in Singapore and loved bridging the different societies through language. This includes producing articles about her experiences for the school newspaper and translating for Singapore’s Korean Association.
In general, Sangeun is fascinated by the power of language to connect people, with an interest in harnessing language for effective communication through debate and writing. Sangeun Noh graduated from Raffles Institution, Singapore, in 2023.
Sangeun has been using art advocacy to tell the stories of caretakers of autistic children and military families in the Republic of Korea. As Never Such Innocence’s Young Ambassador, she held a student art exhibition advocating for peace, where she realized just how powerful art can be in bringing people together across countries. As an aspiring diplomat, Sangeun will continue to use art as a precious channel of communication.
Growing up in a region rife with unresolved historical conflict, war and weaponry were topics far too common for comfort. Her dream is to initiate fruitful conversations across borders that show people the power of peaceful diplomacy.
