Jutomue Doetein
Jutomue Doetein is a passionate advocate for Human Rights and International Development, with more than nine years of experience advocating for the health and well-being of young people, including vulnerable population in Liberia.
He previously served as the Speaker of the Liberian Children’s Parliament in 2017, impacting the lives of over 10,000 children and contributed to the passage of the Domestic Violence Bill in Liberia. His commitment extends to advocating for young people access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights services and information, focusing on vulnerable women and girls.
As Liberia's Youth Representative for family planning, he led a project that educated 500 girls on modern contraceptives, teenage pregnancy, and menstrual hygiene management in Liberia (2020-2021).
As the former Advocacy Officer of SHALOM-Liberia, he empowered over 8,000 girls through the LET US LEARN Program. As a member of the United Nations Youth Advisory Panel in Liberia, Jutomue’s passion for disarmament was driven by the devastating impact of the civil war in Liberia, which witnessed the participation of over 15,000 child soldiers.
His efforts have garnered recognition, including the 2023 Impact Champion Award, the 2022 International Family Planning Youth Trailblazer Award, and the 2021 US International Visitor Leadership Program Impact Award.
