Alexandru Manda (22) is a Romanian activist for educational justice. Founding member and former president (2015-2018) of the first school students' association in Romania, Alexandru has 8 years of experience as an activist for free access to quality education for every child.
At present, Alexandru Manda is Program Coordinator at the Romanian Academic Society and Vice-President for Democracy and Human Rights of GEYC - Group of the European Youth for Change. Alexandru led a couple of advocacy campaigns which managed to increase with 30 million EUR the budgetary allocation for education in 5 counties from Romania, as well to convince the Government to assure 130 million EUR for the respect of school students' right to social and merit scholarships.
For his entire activity, in 2021 Alexandru Manda has received the award Young European of the Year from Schwarzkopf Foundation and the European Youth Forum and was included in the annual cohort 30 under 30 of Forbes Romania.
